Jim
Barclay, a Seventh-day Adventist layman from the Illinois Conference, was
looking for a soul-winning method that could employ hundreds of thousands of
lay-people across the United States. As he prayed, God inspired him with the
idea of taking the gospel to the masses through the bulk-mailing of gospel
literature. Thus PROJECT: Steps to Christ was born. Jim and his wife, Connie,
directed the project from 1976 until 1992, when Jim fell asleep in Jesus.
